Construction Info: Western Row Road & I-71 Interchange Improvements

This project will provide a new full movement interchange with northbound on- and off-ramps, as well as southbound on- and off-ramps, which will increase accessibility.

From our partners at the Ohio Department of Transportation:

Warren County (Friday, Aug. 18, 2017) – Pier column concrete pours for new structures require various nightly lane closures beginning next week.

Various nightly lane closures on east and westbound Western Row Road between Innovation Way and Kings Island Drive beginning at 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.the following day, starting Wednesday, Aug. 23 through Saturday morning, Aug. 26.

Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work zone and restrictions.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.

Construction Info: Columbia Road Relocation

This project will support better traffic flow on Western Row Road by relocating Columbia Road and making improvements the northbound I-71 off ramp at Western Row.

PROJECT UPDATE – AUGUST 18, 2017:

Work to complete the relocation of Columbia Road continues with an upcoming project-related road closure.

Beginning Monday, August 28, at 6:30 pm through Saturday, September 2, at 7:00 am, weather permitting, there will be several single lane closures in the I-71 & Western Row Road Interchange area.

Lane closures include:

  • One lane on the I-71 southbound on-ramp at Western Row Road (one lane will remain open)
  • One westbound left turn lane on Western Row Road to the I-71 SB on-ramp (one turn lane remains open)
  • One through lane on southbound Kings Island Drive (all other travel lanes remain open)

These temporary lane closures are needed for storm sewer installation.

Please reduce your speed in this active work zone and be mindful of work crews moving in and out of the project area.

The work to relocate Columbia Road is moving forward on schedule and is expected to be completed this fall.

Construction Info: Innovation Way Extension, Roundabout & Duke Blvd Widening

Innovation Way will be extended from Socialville-Fosters Rd to Duke Blvd and a new roundabout will be built. Duke Blvd will also be widened.

Construction Info: Fields-Ertel Road Westbound Right Turn Lane

A westbound right turn lane will be built for traffic turning onto NB 71, as well as a new NB lane on Gregory Rd from Governor’s Way to Fields-Ertel.

April 19, 2017:

Various lane closures will be needed to support a new pattern of traffic in the Fields-Ertel & Mason-Montgomery Road intersection area, where our partners at the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) continue work to improve safety and the flow of traffic.

Beginning at 9 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, lane closures will be in place at the Fields-Ertel & Mason-Montgomery Road intersection, ending just east of the Fields-Ertel Road & Royal Point Drive intersection.

Lane closures will be complete by 6 a.m. the following day, but if necessary, these lane closures will be in effect at the same time Thursday, April 20. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.

The new traffic pattern will be two through lanes on east and westbound Fields-Ertel Road and one lane in each direction on Gregory Road. This pattern will be in effect until approximately the end of June.

All work is contingent upon weather. Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the work zone and lane closures.

Construction Info: Mason-Montgomery Road Widening

Two new lanes will be built on Mason-Montgomery Rd – northbound from Parkway to Socialville-Fosters and southbound from Socialville-Fosters to Escort.

Update: August 31, 2017

Beginning Friday, September 15, at 11 p.m., through Monday, September 18, at 5 a.m., a portion of Mason-Montgomery Road will be closed for storm sewer installation at Parkway Drive.

Mason-Montgomery Road between Natorp Boulevard and Irwin-Simpson Road will be closed, but access to local businesses within the closure area will be permitted. Through traffic should follow the posted detour that will use Natorp Boulevard, Duke Drive, Irwin-Simpson Road and Wilkens Boulevard, or seek alternate local routes to avoid the project area.

This work is part of the Mason-Montgomery Road Widening Project that will provide one additional travel lane in each direction on Mason-Montgomery Road, and will ease congestion and improve safety throughout this well-traveled corridor.

Update: August 3, 2017

Our work on the widening of Mason-Montgomery Road continues with utility work from Old Irwin-Simpson Road to Socialville-Fosters Road. Related lane closures will take place during the hours of 7 am – 3 pm daily, with no work taking place on weekends. We expect this work to continue through September.

Construction Info: Mason Road Widening

Mason Road will be widened to three lanes from Whispering Springs Drive to Butler-Warren Road. New curb and gutter improvements will be made along the entire section, and a new sidewalk will be built on the north side of the road.

Update: September 20, 2017

The final stages of work along the newly-widened Mason Road are underway. Weather permitting, during the week of September 25, access to Mason Road will be restored for local residential traffic only, west of Oakbrook Lane. Through traffic should continue to use the posted detour. During this time, work crews will install pavement markings and adjust the traffic signal at Butler-Warren Road to accommodate the new pattern of traffic.

Access to Hampton Village Drive will also be restored.

Over the next six weeks, crews will continue work along Mason Road from Oakbrook Lane to Whispering Springs Drive.
